Luis Teran

Luis A. Teran is a layout foreman at an ecological restoration and construction firm based in the Mid-Atlantic region.   In this role, Mr. Teran leads a crew that brings to life stream and stormwater infrastructure designs while maintaining erosion and sediment controls during the project lifecycle.   He is dedicated to the fairness, equity, and the safety of his crew, who are all of diverse backgrounds. Their most recent stream restoration efforts can be seen from the Vesper Street Trail in Vienna, Virgina.

Moving forward, Mr. Teran is passionate about technology and urban infrastructure.  Influenced by smart city initiatives, he is interested in pursuing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure using unmanned aerial vehicles to collect data and assess their ecological functionality.  Mr. Teran is a 2013 graduate of Virginia Tech, where he pursued a dual masters degree in Natural Resource Management/Urban and Regional Planning.  His technical experience, coupled with his educational foundation, give him a unique perspective to policy development and curriculum assessment.
