Thank you for the invitation. I am truly honored to be considered as one of the first professionals featured in the ECI Certified Professional Spotlight series.
Looking back, my professional journey has been shaped by three passions: entrepreneurship, engineering, and the opportunity to work with exceptional people while building businesses that create lasting value.
I began my career as a Civil Engineer, graduating with honors, and later earned an MBA along with several postgraduate specializations related to engineering, management, and the energy industry. Rather than following a conventional career path, I chose to build companies from the ground up.
Early in my career, I founded engineering and construction companies specializing in erosion and sediment control. Together with outstanding teams, we completed more than 400 projects across Latin America, many of them in environmentally sensitive regions such as the Amazon rainforest. Working in those environments taught me that successful engineering is not only about solving technical problems—it is about doing so responsibly, balancing development with respect for nature and the communities around it. Those experiences were recognized with several professional awards and distinctions in different countries, but more importantly, they shaped the way I approach every challenge.
As new opportunities emerged, my career naturally evolved into the oil and gas industry. Over the past three decades, I have had the privilege of working in engineering, operations, manufacturing, technology development, business development, and executive leadership. Every stage of that journey has reinforced my belief that innovation, operational excellence, and strong relationships are essential to creating sustainable businesses.
Today, together with several partners, I own an independent oil and gas operating company in Argentina that holds the concession rights to several producing oil and gas fields. Being directly involved as an operator gives me the opportunity to combine technical knowledge with strategic decision-making while contributing to the responsible development of my country’s energy resources. It is a role that I find both professionally challenging and personally rewarding.
One of the things I enjoy most about our industry is that it constantly brings together talented people from different cultures, disciplines, and experiences. I firmly believe that our profession grows when knowledge is shared openly, when experienced professionals mentor younger generations, and when we all strive to uphold the highest standards of technical excellence and integrity. That is one of the reasons why serving on the ECI Board has been such a meaningful experience for me.
Beyond my professional life, my greatest achievement is my family. My wife, Claudia, and our children have always been my strongest supporters throughout a career that has involved constant travel, demanding projects, and new challenges. Their encouragement has allowed me to pursue ambitious goals while never losing sight of what truly matters.
Another important part of my life is long-distance running. I have completed several marathons, including the New York City Marathon, but one of the experiences that marked me the most was crossing the Andes Mountains during the Cruce de los Andes, covering 100 kilometers over three days. Running has taught me lessons that extend far beyond sport: discipline, resilience, humility, consistency, and the understanding that extraordinary achievements are built one step at a time.
Whenever I have the opportunity, I enjoy traveling, discovering different cultures, appreciating architecture and nature, and spending quality time with family and friends. I believe that these experiences broaden our perspective and ultimately make us better professionals and better people.
Becoming an ECI Certified Professional has been an important milestone in my career. To me, certification represents much more than technical competence. It reflects integrity, professionalism, ethical responsibility, and a commitment to continuous learning throughout one’s career. I am proud to be part of this community and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to its future.
