Adriana Caldarelli

HR 1437: A bill is moving through Congress this week that would require the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to update precipitation data every five (5) years. This bill amends the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017. HR 1437 also requires NOAA to work with the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine to conduct a study on the state of practice and research needs for precipitation estimation, including probable maximum precipitation estimation.
